The SIA Architectural Design Awards, regarded as the pinnacle of recognition by the Singapore Institute of Architects, shines as a beacon illuminating excellence in architectural design. Breaking fresh ground, the outcomes of this esteemed accolade are set to be unveiled at the inaugural integrated Singapore Archifest 2024, scheduled from the 15th to the 17th of May 2024.
These awards pay homage to SIA Members, celebrating their outstanding contributions to architectural excellence and innovation. They underscore the pivotal role these individuals play in nurturing enriching dialogues about architecture, both within the profession and beyond. A distinguished panel of jurors has been carefully selected to meticulously evaluate this year’s array of projects.
In a pioneering move, the SIA extends a warm invitation to our counterparts from the 4-Nations partnership to participate in the “Overseas Residential Projects” category. Additionally, the “Small Houses” category is being reintroduced, aimed at spotlighting the ingenuity of emerging architects from smaller firms. This iteration of the awards promises to be inclusive and exhilarating, offering a platform for a diverse range of talents to shine.
SIA extends an open invitation to all eligible members to partake in the SIA Architectural Design Awards 2024. Through this participation, the institute seeks to amplify the recognition and support for exemplary architectural design within both the professional and public domains, further enriching the architectural landscape.
Services Offered
The Architect’s Appointment Committee has undertaken a thorough review of the SIA Blue Book scope of service for Basic and Additional Services. This review aims to bring clarity to the industry regarding the roles and scope of services expected from architects. Furthermore, it seeks to align the scope of service with the SIA Practice Management Framework (PMF), slated for launch in Q4 2018. This initiative forms part of a broader objective aimed at empowering architects to enhance practice management and project delivery, while mitigating scope creep and ensuring fair remuneration for services rendered.
An extended version of the scope of service, encompassing Specialist Services, will be made available in due course. Additionally, efforts are underway to further refine this matrix, providing more detailed descriptions and links to the SIA e-contract. These enhancements will enable architects to articulate their scope of service more effectively in their consultancy agreements, fostering greater clarity and transparency in project engagements.
